Juicy minced beef skewers on the table in no time
Maybe I'm repeating myself, but oooooooh how happy this beautiful weather makes me! Lovely sunshine on your face, the buzz in the streets and the long, sultry summer evenings. A BBQ naturally belongs to an evening like that, and this 'make kebab yourself' recipe from ZTRDG is perfectly suited for it. You can also just make it in the grill pan =)Some people only know kebab from Turkey (or from the one place that's still open after a night out), but that really undersells it. Kebab is made from compressed meat threaded onto a skewer. It's often made from lamb, veal or chicken, but for this recipe we use beef. You can put the meat in a sandwich (delicious!), but they're not to be sniffed at straight off the BBQ either. If you make a nice tzatziki to go with it, you're guaranteed a fantastically tasty summer evening. Enjoy!
1. Finely chop the garlic, shallot, parsley and red chili. Put everything in a bowl with the ground beef, breadcrumbs, cumin, egg, salt and pepper. Knead together and form long sausage-like shapes around the skewers. Don't make them too thick or they won't cook through in the middle.
2. Grill the skewers on the BBQ or in a grill pan until browned all over. Serve with a generous dollop of tzatziki (and optionally some extra parsley on top) and enjoy!

Serve the kebab skewers with a generous spoonful of tzatziki and some fresh parsley. They're also delicious in a pita with slices of tomato and red onion.
Using wooden skewers? Soak them first for at least 30 minutes so they don't burn on the barbecue or in the grill pan.
