Equipment

  • Food processor

Ingredients

  • 150 g Medjool dates (pitted)
  • 100 g gluten-free oats
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • +/- 2 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 75 ml water

Chocolate bliss balls

    1. If you’re using oat flakes, it’s best to grind them in the food processor before adding the dates. Put the dates in the food processor and blend until smooth. Then add the oats, the cocoa powder, half of the water and the vanilla extract. Turn the food processor on and let it run for a moment, then after about half a minute add the rest of the water.
    2. Roll small balls from the mixture and set aside.
    3. Moisten the balls and roll them in the shredded coconut. Not a fan of coconut? You can also roll them in some extra cocoa powder.

These chocolate bliss balls are a delicious and healthy snack you can make very quickly. They’re gluten-free and contain no added sugars, as the dates provide the natural sweetness.

Store the bliss balls in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll keep easily for a week. You can also freeze them if you want to make a larger batch.
