Dates with peanut butter and chocolate

For this recipe you only need a small knife and a spoon. They're quick to make and absolutely delicious. I especially love them with a cup of coffee, and they give you just the right sweet hit. You probably don’t need more than one or two, because they’re quite filling.

Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Saucepan
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Baking paper
  • Plate

Ingredients

  • 10 large Medjool dates
  • 60-80 g sugar-free dark chocolate
  • 10 small teaspoons of (organic) sugar-free peanut butter

Dates with Peanut Butter and Chocolate

    1. Melt the chocolate au-bain-marie.
    2. Cut the dates lengthwise and remove the pits. Fill each with a teaspoon of peanut butter and 'fold' the date closed again.
    3. Dip the date into the melted chocolate (for example with a spoon) and make sure the chocolate coating covers it completely.
    4. Let the dates set on a plate lined with baking paper and store in the refrigerator. Enjoy

These dates with peanut butter and chocolate are a delicious, natural treat. They contain no added sugars yet are surprisingly sweet and satisfying. Perfect as a healthy snack or a sweet bite with coffee.

Store the dates in a sealed container in the refrigerator. They'll keep well for a few days. Want some variety? Try almond butter or cashew butter instead of peanut butter for a different flavor.
