Healthy chocolate balls with a crunchy bite
These little delights were exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to make an easy chocolate dessert. They remind me of a Snicker, but much less sweet. Thanks to the puffed quinoa — which you can buy at BioWinkels or larger supermarkets — they have a fudgy center. And you can make your own quinoa-cacao treats in 15 minutes!
1. Melt the coconut oil, then gently add the cacao powder, maple syrup and almond butter. Let everything melt into a smooth mixture. Put the puffed quinoa into a large bowl and pour the chocolate mix over it. Stir well so all the puffs are coated in chocolate.
2. Now you can form balls by taking a small handful and pressing firmly in your palm. You can also spoon small portions into mini cupcake liners if pressing doesn't work. Put them in the freezer for 10 minutes and your treats are ready! Enjoy =D

These treats are perfect as a healthy snack or a sweet dessert. Store them in a sealed container in the freezer or fridge so they stay firm.
Feel free to experiment with different nut butters like cashew butter or peanut butter for another flavor. Also delicious with a sprinkle of sea salt on top for that sweet-salty effect.
