What makes this product so special is the large bowl shape: it allows plenty of oxygen in, so the fruity, sometimes grassy notes of a Sauvignon Blanc can fully unfold instead of being pushed down. I also use this kind of glass myself for Sancerre or Chenin Blanc, because the wide opening works wonders there too. Whether you choose a fresh Loire or something creamier and riper, you get the best out of it every time. Two glasses, a good chilled bottle, and you have everything you need for a delicious moment.

How many glasses are in the set and what is their capacity?
You will receive 2 wine glasses from the Riedel Veloce collection. Each glass has a capacity of 350 ml. That's just enough room to pour a generous serving of wine and let the bowl do its work.
What types of wine are these glasses suitable for?
The Riedel Veloce Sauvignon Blanc glasses are more versatile than you might think. They work particularly well with: • Sauvignon Blanc • Muscat wines • Chenin Blanc • Semillon • Lambrusco • Sancerre The large bowl allows a lot of oxygen in, helping both grassy and fruity wines as well as sweeter styles to show at their best.
Can I wash these Riedel wine glasses in the dishwasher?
Riedel recommends hand-washing their Veloce glasses. Crystal glasses are sensitive to the heat and harsh detergents in a dishwasher — this can dull or damage the glass. Wash the glasses with warm water and a mild dish soap, and dry them immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth. This keeps the glass clear and preserves its quality over the long term.
How should I store these wine glasses?
Store the glasses upright on a clean, stable surface — do not hang them upside down, as that increases the risk of chipping the rim. Do not store them in a closed cupboard with strong odors, since crystal can absorb scents. An open glass rack or a roomy kitchen cabinet with no heavy items above is ideal. The glasses come in a protective box, which you can also use for storage or transport.
What makes the shape of this glass special for white wine?
The Veloce glasses have a large, roomy bowl. That shape is intentional: more surface area means more contact with oxygen, which gives the fruit flavors and tannins room to fully develop. For white wines like Sauvignon Blanc, this directly contributes to a richer aroma and a fuller flavor experience in the glass. The slightly narrower opening at the top concentrates the aromas toward your nose as you drink.
