Is this wine glass dishwasher-safe?
The Riedel Superleggero glass is made of extremely thin, hand-blown crystal. Riedel recommends washing these glasses by hand to preserve the fragile material and the finesse of the glass for as long as possible. Use lukewarm water and a mild dish detergent, then let the glass dry upright or gently pat it dry with a linen cloth.
Which grape varieties is this glass suitable for?
This glass was specifically developed for red wines of medium body where fruit, pepper and spice play a major role. It works excellently with grape varieties such as: • Syrah / Shiraz • Hermitage • Other powerful, tannic red wines with earthy and savory notes The pronounced egg-shaped bowl is specifically designed to bring out soft fruit flavors and earthy characteristics.
How large is this wine glass and how much wine should you pour into it?
The Riedel Superleggero Hermitage / Syrah glass has a capacity of 668 ml. That is a generous bowl, intentionally designed that way: the extra space gives the wine a chance to breathe and the aromas to fully develop. In practice you of course fill the glass only partway so you can swirl it and capture the aromas well.
Is this glass sold individually or by set?
The Riedel Superleggero Hermitage / Syrah glass is sold individually. If you want multiple glasses for the table, simply order the desired quantity. That way you decide how large your set will be.
