About Coravin

Coravin was founded by Greg Lambrecht. He combined his knowledge of medical needles with his passion for wine to develop a unique wine preservation system that allowed him to pour wine without removing the cork. The wine tastes as if the bottle was just opened, even if it is years later.

It took him eight years to develop the first Coravin-wine preservation system: Model C1000. With the products of Coravin a wine lover will look at wine differently and discover a whole new experience!

Pour your favorite wines without pulling out the cork with the Coravin Timeless Wine Storage System. This system allows you to store still wines for weeks, months or even years. The Coravin-needle, easily pierces the cork without moving the cork material. As wine is extracted through the needle, it is replaced with pure Argon gas so oxygen will never reach the remaining wine. This keeps the wine as fresh as the day it was bottled.

This Coravin Wine Storage System comes complete with:

Position the wine tap above the neck of the bottle and push firmly, in one smooth motion across the neck of the bottle. This will cause the Coravin-needle through the cork of the wine bottle.
Tilt the bottle with the spout above the glass. Push briefly against the lever, release and pour.
When you finish pouring, remove the wine system from the bottle again. This is done by removing the lever from the bottle with a smooth upward motion.
Be sure to clean the wine system properly after use to increase its lifespan. This is easy and quick to do with warm water and a dry cloth.

How many glasses of wine can you pour with the included Argon capsules?

The Coravin Timeless Six+ comes with 3 Argon capsules. Each capsule is good for about 15 glasses, which equals a total of 45 glasses of wine. Running out of capsules? New Argon capsules can be ordered separately so you can keep enjoying.

Does the Coravin Timeless Six+ system also work with wines that have a screw cap?

No, the Coravin Timeless Six+ system works exclusively with cork-sealed bottles. The technology is based on an ultra-thin needle that pierces the cork without damaging it. The cork then reseals itself, keeping the wine protected. For bottles with a screw cap, the included 6 screw caps are intended to close and store opened bottles.

How do you store and maintain the Coravin Timeless Six+ system?

The Coravin Timeless Six+ is a precision instrument — a little care keeps it in top condition: • Store the system preferably in the included storage bag; it protects the needle and keeps everything together. • Ensure the needle is free of wine residue after use; rinse it gently with lukewarm water. • Do not expose the system to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight. • Regularly check that the Argon capsule still has enough gas for proper pouring performance. The system comes with a 2-year warranty from Coravin.

How long does a wine stay good after you've poured a glass with the Coravin?

Thanks to the Argon gas that fills the bottle as you pour, the wine never comes into contact with oxygen. Oxidation — the biggest enemy of opened wine — therefore doesn't play a role. The result is that a pierced bottle can taste as fresh weeks, months or even years later as the first time. The cork reseals itself after the needle is withdrawn, without damage.

Do I still need to decant the wine separately when I use the Coravin Timeless Six+?

No, separate decanting is not necessary. The Coravin Timeless Six+ comes with an included aerator that ensures the wine is at its best immediately when pouring. The aerator aerates the wine at the moment you pour, in a single motion.
