Can I put these Riedel glasses in the dishwasher?

Riedel Veritas glasses are finely blown crystal glasses of high quality. Because of the delicate, lightweight nature of this crystal we recommend washing these glasses by hand. Use lukewarm water and a mild dish soap, and dry them immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth. This keeps the crystal clear and undamaged.

Why does this glass have an egg-shaped bowl instead of the classic flute shape?

Good question — and this is where Riedel craftsmanship comes in. The egg-shaped bowl literally gives the champagne more room. Where a narrow flute restricts the aromas, this design allows complex aroma layers to develop and intensify. The larger rim diameter ensures the aromas are released correctly.
