Are these wine glasses dishwasher-safe?

Crystal glasses like these Riedel Veritas glasses are generally not suitable for the dishwasher. The ultra-thin crystal is sensitive to the high temperatures and harsh detergents in the dishwasher — this damages the glass and causes it to become cloudy. Wash them by hand in warm water with a mild dish soap and dry them immediately with a soft cloth. This preserves the clarity and the fine crystal for as long as possible.

How many glasses are included in the package?

This set contains 2 Riedel Veritas Old World Syrah wine glasses of 600 ml each. Ideal for a culinary evening for two — or as a base to expand your set.

Which red wines is this glass best suited for?

This glass is specifically designed for red wines with firm tannins and a medium body. The egg-shaped bowl brings the fruity aromas and the peppery and spicy notes of these wines into good balance. Grape varieties that work particularly well with this glass: • Syrah / Shiraz • Sangiovese • Barbera • Tempranillo • Mencía • Mourvèdre • Grenache • Rioja blends

How should I store these glasses?

Store the glasses upright in a dust-free cabinet — not upside down on the rim, as that can damage the thin bowl. Never stack the glasses. Thanks to the ultra-thin crystal glass they are light and elegant, but they do require a bit of extra care when storing. A stemware rack or a separate cabinet is ideal if you use them often.

Are the glasses also suitable for drinks other than red wine?

The Riedel Veritas Old World Syrah is specifically designed for red wine and optimized for the aromas and structure of those wines. The shape — a broad, egg-shaped bowl of 600 ml — is less suitable for white wine or champagne, for which Riedel develops separate shapes. For the best results, use this glass for the red wines it is intended for.
