Riedel Wine Glass Set: Veritas Cabernet/Merlot Red Wine Glasses + Wine Friendly Decanter

The wine glasses from the Riedel collection truly enhance your wine experience. The Riedel Veritas Cabernet/Merlot Wine Glasses are perfect for full-bodied red wines with plenty of tannins. This set includes: Riedel Veritas Cabernet/Merlot Wine Glasses 459 ml and Riedel Wine Friendly Decanter 750 ml.

The bowl size allows the flavors to fully develop, bringing out the fruity notes and reducing the bitter tannins—resulting in a balanced wine. Now available for a limited time, including a decanter! Perfect for Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon, Brunello di Montalcino, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Carmenère.

Maintenance & Care Accessories

To keep your Riedel Wine Friendly decanter in perfect condition, cleaning granules and polishing cloths are essential accessories.

Cleaning granules are specially developed for safely cleaning decanters and narrow glasses. They effectively remove wine residue and deposits without damaging the crystal glass and without the use of harsh cleaning agents.
Polishing cloths ensure a streak-free and shiny finish after washing and drying the decanter, ideal for crystal glass and high-quality wine accessories.

At Cookinglife, in addition to the Riedel Wine Friendly decanter, you'll also find matching cleaning granules and polishing cloths, so you have everything you need for optimal maintenance and years of enjoyment from your decanter.

What does our expert say?

Wine Specialist

If you really want to taste what a Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot has to offer, the glass makes a bigger difference than most people think. The wide bowl of this glass gives the wine room to open up, bringing fruity notes forward and softening those sharp tannins. What makes it extra interesting is the combination with the Wine Friendly Decanter, because decanting full-bodied red wines isn't a luxury—it's just sensible. I always prefer to put a young Bordeaux or Brunello in the decanter about half an hour beforehand, and you taste the difference immediately. Riedel has simply done its job well here, and with this set you have everything you need to bring out the best in every bottle.

About Riedel

FAQ

Are these wine glasses dishwasher-safe?

Riedel states that the Veritas wine glasses are dishwasher-safe, but hand washing extends their lifespan and keeps the crystal glass clearest. Wash your glasses at a low temperature and place them upright in the dishwasher so they don't vibrate or knock against each other during washing. The Wine Friendly decanteerkaraf is best washed by hand — or use specially developed cleaning beads. These remove wine residues and deposits effectively without damaging the crystal glass and without aggressive cleaning agents.

How do I best clean the decanter?

A narrow neck makes a decanter a bit harder to clean, but that's easily solved. Use cleaning beads: fill the decanter with lukewarm water, add the beads, shake gently and then rinse thoroughly. They are specially developed for carafes and narrow glasses and do not damage the crystal. Then dry your carafe streak-free with a polishing cloth — ideal for crystal glass and high-quality wine accessories. At Cookinglife you can find matching cleaning beads and polishing cloths available separately alongside this set.

For which wines are the Veritas Cabernet/Merlot glasses suitable?

These glasses are specifically designed for full-bodied red wines with high tannins. The bowl shape brings flavors out to their best: fruity notes come forward and bitter tannins are softened, for a balanced taste experience. They work well with: • Bordeaux • Cabernet Sauvignon • Brunello di Montalcino • Merlot • Petit Verdot • Carménère

What's included in the package?

The set contains the following: • 4x Riedel Veritas Cabernet/Merlot wine glass — capacity 459 ml per glass • 1x Riedel Wine Friendly decanteerkaraf — capacity 750 ml Cleaning beads and polishing cloths are not included as standard in the package, but are available separately from Cookinglife as matching accessories.

Why should I use a decanter for red wine?

Decanting gives red wine the chance to breathe: contact with oxygen softens tannins and releases aromas more fully. You'll notice it directly in the glass — the wine tastes rounder and more balanced. The Riedel Wine Friendly Decanter (750 ml) is designed to support this process and matches a standard bottle of red wine exactly. It is suitable for the same wine styles as the included Veritas wine glasses, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Bordeaux.

Carolien D. 5/5 Verified June 22, 2026
