FAQ

Does this braising pan work on all heat sources, including induction?

Yes! Cast iron is naturally suitable for all heat sources — gas, electric, ceramic and induction. The thick base of the Fontestic braadpan ensures even heat distribution on any stove.

Can I use this braising pan in the oven as well?

Absolutely. Cast iron and the oven are a perfect combination. You can put the Fontestic braadpan with its lid directly into the oven — ideal for stews that you sear on the stove and then slowly finish in the oven. Always check the maximum oven temperature specified by the manufacturer for the handles and the lid.

How should I care for the enameled interior?

Good care is simple and will keep the pan enjoyable to use for years. Our tips: • Wash the pan after use with warm water and a soft sponge — avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool, as these can damage the enamel. • Let the pan cool completely before cleaning it, to prevent thermal shock. • Always dry the pan thoroughly to prevent rust on any uncoated edges. The enameled interior helps prevent sticking and is relatively easy to clean.

Is the braising pan dishwasher safe?

Enameled cast-iron pans are best washed by hand. The dishwasher is too harsh for the enamel and the handles — hand washing keeps the pan in top condition and significantly extends its lifespan.

For how many people is the Ø 20 cm / 2.7 liter size suitable?

With a capacity of 2.7 liters, this braising pan is ideal for 2 to 3 people. Think of a flavorful stew, a serving of juicy meat or a small tajine. If you cook more often for a larger group, it’s wise to look at a bigger size from the Fontestic-lijn.

Heel nuttige multifunctionele pan, houdt warmte goed vast. Ik bak er ook knapperig brood in. Mooi bovendien.

Trees A. 4/5 Verified May 17, 2025

E.c. V. 4/5 Verified May 16, 2025

Ik kocht de pot in het geel. Is heel mooi.
