How big should a Casserolebe?

A Casseroleis better to be too big than too small. Now it is true that you will need a significantly smaller pan for two people than for a family of six or eight, but for all situations, make sure you have Casserolebig enough!

There are several ways to properly size your Casseroledetermine, you can indicate this in capacity size or in diameter. But which one do you need? One pan with a diameter of 26 centimeters has a much larger capacity measure than another. We like to put it as clear as possible for you in a row, both the size in diameter and the capacity measure you need to determine the size of the Casseroleto know.

What size Casserolefor 2 people?

For two people, a Casserole with a diameter of about 22 centimeters is sufficient. As for the capacity measure, you need at least two liters. Of course, it depends entirely on what you are going to prepare in the pan. Basically, you use a Casserole mainly for roasting, searing and simmering meat. But a couple of simmering steaks take up a lot less space than a whole chicken. In addition, many more vegetables are used nowadays to stew nicely with the meat. Vegetables often shrink considerably, but still take up quite a bit of space in the beginning. This is exactly why a Casseroleis never too big!

Which size Casserolefor 4 people?

The average family consists of four people. If you want to make a tasty stew for everyone in your casserole, you will surely need a capacity of three to four liters, then you will have enough space to make a generous stew. This soon corresponds to a diameter of 24 to 26 centimeters.

The most commonly used Casseroleis still the one from Sola. This is not surprising, since it is a brand that has been around for years and makes good quality pans. Probably your parents have
have one in the cupboard and your grandmother also has one that she has been using for years. The brand is recognizable by the cheerful colors that the pans come in. You also have an extensive choice of different frying pans. Think of the classic round pan, but also a nice oval pan. This is perfect for cooking a whole chicken or fish, for example.

Which size Casserolefor 6 people?

In any case, you have a Casserole of 26 centimeters or larger for such a large party. In terms of capacity, you should easily think about five liters. Depending on what you will be cooking, six liters is a better option. If you are going to cook for six people, you will obviously need a larger pan than for two. On average, you can keep one liter per person.

Besides that it is important that the Sola Casserole large enough, you need to make sure that the bottom of your Casserole is thick enough. Especially for stewing, this is essential. A thick bottom retains heat better and also provides good heat conduction. This is absolutely necessary for a stew. If you really only want to sear a piece of meat briefly, then a Casserole with a thinner bottom will do just fine.

How do you measure a casserole?

Pans are always measured at the edge. The reason for this is that the top of a pan is usually a bit wider than the bottom. You often see that pans start narrowly at the bottom and then turn up wider. The diameter of a Sola pan is especially pleasant to know for your stove. The average stove has four heat sources, for example, this can be a Gaspit or be an induction plate. With these four points you only have a limited space and four large pans are compromised.

As stated earlier, a pan with a diameter of 24 centimeters can have different contents measures. In order to create clarity, therefore, a content measure is often given in addition to a diameter. This way you know exactly how much fits in the pan and whether the pan fits on your stove in terms of size.
