FAQ

Does this braising pan work on induction?

Yes, the Cosy & Trendy Fontestic braadpan works on any heat source — including induction. Cast iron is naturally suitable for gas, electric, ceramic and induction. So you don’t need to worry about the heat source in your kitchen.

Can I also use this braising pan in the oven?

Absolutely. Cast iron and the oven are a perfect combination. You can put the Fontestic braadpan in the oven without any problem — ideal for dishes that you first sear on the stove and then let cook slowly. Do check the maximum oven temperature specified by the manufacturer, because the handles and the lid are made from the same cast iron material.

How do I properly maintain the enameled interior?

The enameled interior is key to a long lifespan. Keep it in top condition like this: • Let the pan cool before washing it — sudden temperature changes can damage the enamel. • Wash it by hand with warm water and a soft sponge. Harsh scouring agents or steel wool are not recommended. • Dry the pan thoroughly after washing to prevent oxidation. • Do not use metal kitchen utensils that can scratch the enamel. With proper use and care, this braising pan will last for many years.

Is the lid also made of cast iron and what does it do exactly?

Yes, the lid is part of the same cast iron Fontestic pan. The lid has small dimples on the inside. These ensure that condensation drips back evenly onto the dish — so your stew or meat stays continuously moistened from the inside. The result: evenly cooked, juicy food without needing to watch it constantly.

Is 4.6 liters large enough for a family meal?

With a capacity of 4.6 liters and a diameter of 24 cm, this braising pan is suitable for a generous meal. As a guideline: you can easily prepare a stew or roast for 4 to 6 people. If you mostly cook for a smaller group, you’ll even have room to spare. The Fontestic lijn is available in the colors Green Heron, Rust and Amber Gold.

Heel nuttige multifunctionele pan, houdt warmte goed vast. Ik bak er ook knapperig brood in. Mooi bovendien.

Trees A. 4/5 Verified May 17, 2025

E.c. V. 4/5 Verified May 16, 2025

Ik kocht de pot in het geel. Is heel mooi.
