Are these wine glasses really dishwasher-safe, or will they become dull?
Good question — and the answer is: yes, truly dishwasher-safe. Leonardo makes the Puccini glasses from TeQton glass, a specially treated glass material that is significantly more resistant to scratches and to the heat and water pressure of the dishwasher than ordinary glass. The result: the glasses retain the same crystal-clear, radiant appearance after dozens of washes. No cloudy spots, no dull surface. Just put them in the dishwasher, and that’s it.
How many glasses are in this set, and how many people is that enough for?
This set contains 6 white wine glasses of 400 ml each — ideal for a dinner with six guests. Each glass holds 400 ml, plenty for a generous pour without overflowing, and with the right wine-to-air ratio for optimal tasting. Looking for a more complete tableware? Leonardo also offers the Puccini collection as an 18-piece set, with 6 red wine glasses (750 ml), 6 white wine glasses (560 ml) and 6 champagne glasses (280 ml).
Why is the bowl shape of this glass particularly suited to Riesling?
White wine — and certainly Riesling — is demanding when it comes to the right glass. A bowl that’s too wide lets the fresh aromas evaporate before they reach your nose. Too narrow and the flavor remains trapped. The slender bowl shape of the Puccini glasses is deliberately designed to channel the subtle floral and fruity aromas of a Riesling toward the tip of your tongue — exactly where freshness comes into its own. The height of the glass is 230 mm.
Where are these wine glasses made, and what does that say about their quality?
The Leonardo Puccini wine glasses are Made in Germany. Is this glass also suitable for other white wines, or only for Riesling?
