Yes, absolutely. The Hendi sous vide bags are suitable for use at temperatures down to -20°C, so you can safely use them to freeze dishes or ingredients. Thanks to the two-layer construction — with an inner layer of polyethylene and an outer layer of polyamide (nylon) — aromas and flavors are well preserved, even in the freezer.

Up to what temperature can I use these bags for sous vide cooking?

These vacuum bags withstand temperatures up to 110°C. That makes them fully suitable for sous vide preparations, where the water bath typically stays between 50°C and 90°C. So you don't need to worry about the bag melting or deforming during cooking.

Do these bags also work with a regular FoodSaver or external vacuum machine?

Be aware of this: these Hendi vacuum bags are specifically designed for use with vacuum chamber packaging machines. They are not suitable for FoodSavers or similar external vacuum machines that extract air from outside the bag. Use them only in combination with a chamber packaging machine for the best result.

Do these bags also protect food from light?

Yes. The materials these bags are made of — polyethylene and polyamide — act as a UV filter. This means that light exposure is blocked, which helps keep the color, flavor and quality of your ingredients intact for longer.
