FAQ

Which heat sources can I use this Dutch oven on?

This cast-iron Dutch oven works on all heat sources — including induction. Cast iron conducts heat very well and distributes it evenly across the base and the walls, making it ideal for slow stews. You can also use the pan in the oven.

How do I properly care for the enameled interior?

An enameled cast-iron pan is durable, but it does require some attention: • Preferably wash the pan by hand with warm water and a soft sponge. • Let the pan cool completely before cleaning it — large temperature differences are bad for the enamel. • Do not use scouring pads or aggressive cleaners; they will damage the enamel. • Dry the pan thoroughly after washing to prevent rust. With this care the enamel will last for years.

What is the purpose of the lid with droplets?

The lid of this Dutch oven has a pattern of droplets on the inside. Steam that rises during cooking condenses on the lid and, thanks to that pattern, drips back evenly over the dish. This keeps your stew continuously moist and prevents the meat or vegetables from drying out. The result is evenly cooked, juicy dishes.

Is the Dutch oven large enough for a family meal?

Yes, definitely. With a diameter of 28 cm and a capacity of 6.8 liters, this is a roomy Dutch oven. That’s more than enough for a stew for four to six people. It’s also a practical choice for larger gatherings or meals you want to prepare a day in advance.

In which colors is the Fontestic braadpan available?

The Cosy & Trendy Fontestic braadpan is available in three colors: • Amber Gold • Green Heron • Rust All three variants are made from the same cast-iron material with an enameled interior.

Trees A. 4/5 Verified May 17, 2025

E.c. V. 4/5 Verified May 16, 2025

Ik kocht de pot in het geel. Is heel mooi.
