FAQ

How should I care for this cast-iron roasting pan?

Cast iron is a material that proves itself in practice — provided you pamper it a little. To keep the Fontestic roasting pan in top condition: • Wash the pan with warm water and a soft sponge. Thanks to the enameled non-stick coating this is easy. • Dry the pan immediately and thoroughly after washing, including the rim and bottom. • Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners — they damage the enamel. • Dishwasher? You can — the pan is dishwasher-safe — but washing by hand extends its lifespan. With good care a cast-iron pan will last for decades.

Which heat sources can I use this roasting pan on?

The Fontestic roasting pan is suitable for all heat sources, so you’re always covered, regardless of your kitchen setup: • Induction • Gas • Electric • Ceramic • BBQ • Oven This versatility makes the pan ideal for stews you start on the stove and finish in the oven.

Is this roasting pan ovenproof, and up to what temperature?

Yes, the Fontestic cast-iron roasting pan is ovenproof. Cast iron is naturally resistant to high oven temperatures, so you can prepare stews and casseroles without problems. Note that the handles and lid are also made of cast iron — use oven gloves when removing the pan from the oven, as the material becomes very hot.

Does the lid really fit the pan well?

Yes, the lid is specifically designed for this oval 31 x 24 cm roasting pan and is included. It fits well, which is important for slow-cooked dishes: moisture and flavor are optimally retained in the pan. The pan has a capacity of 6 liters, plenty for a large stew for the whole family.

Do I need to season or oil the enameled non-stick coating before first use?

No, that is not necessary with an enameled cast-iron pan. The enamel already forms a protective, smooth layer — seasoning is something you do with uncoated (bare) cast iron, not with enameled cast iron like the Fontestic. What you should do before first use: wash the pan with warm water and a soft sponge, dry thoroughly and then get cooking. Preferably heat the pan gradually and use enough fat or liquid to protect the enamel.

Heel nuttige multifunctionele pan, houdt warmte goed vast. Ik bak er ook knapperig brood in. Mooi bovendien.

Trees A. 4/5 Verified May 17, 2025

E.c. V. 4/5 Verified May 16, 2025

Ik kocht de pot in het geel. Is heel mooi.
