The Chef & Sommelier Wine Glass Open Up 55 cl is made of Kwarx glass. This gives the wine glass the same luster as crystal and makes it very strong. Because of the mould of the glass, the wine lands on the center and sides of your tongue for a good balance of acidity and fruit. The kink in the wine glass serves as a pouring rim but also ensures that the aromas are well released. The wine glass also has a sharp drinking edge for a pleasant drinking experience. The wine glass has a height of 23.3 centimeters and a capacity of 55 centiliters.

Are these red wine glasses also suitable for rosé or other wines?

The Open Up glasses from Chef & Sommelier are specifically designed for red wine, but they also work excellently for rosé. The shape of the glass — with its distinctive curve — helps aromas develop optimally, which is a big advantage for young red wines as well as for rosé. The generous capacity of 550 ml gives the wine enough room to breathe. Want to use them for white wine? You can, but for white wines glasses with a narrower bowl are generally a better choice.

How do I care for these glasses so they last a long time?

With proper care these glasses will last for years. A few practical tips: • First use: Wash the glasses before first use with warm water and a mild dish soap. • In the dishwasher: The glasses are dishwasher-safe — place them with enough space between them so they don't knock against each other. • Drying: Dry the glasses after washing with a soft cloth to prevent spots and preserve the shine.
