Why This Bundt Pan Is Different from the Rest
Most bundt pans produce a nice cake. This Nordic Ware Braided Bundt delivers a moment. The braided pattern creates deep grooves and relief that beautifully capture glaze, ganache, or a simple dusting of powdered sugar. The result? A cake that looks like you’ve spent hours on it, while the pan does most of the work.

Cast Aluminum: The Secret Behind the Perfect Crust
Not all baking pans are created equal. Where thin aluminum pans create hot spots and silicone pans give a limp, pale crust, solid cast aluminum does exactly what a good baking pan should do: evenly distribute and retain heat. The result is a bundt with a beautiful, golden-brown crust all around - not just on the outside, but also in every nook and cranny of the braided pattern. That’s the difference you can taste.
Nordic Ware has been making baking pans since 1946 in Minneapolis, and the Premier Gold Collection is their finest work. The cast aluminum is heavier than an average baking pan - and you feel it immediately when you pick it up. This is quality that proves itself, use after use, year after year.
The Braided Design: Beauty with Meaning
The Braided Bundt was designed in 2020 - a year that made the world think about connection. The braided strands symbolize an endless circle of togetherness, continuity, and strength. That may sound grand for a baking pan, but once you place this cake on the table and see how people look at it, you’ll understand. Add raisins, chocolate, and nuts to your batter, dust with powdered sugar, and set it down. Guaranteed first reaction: "How did you do that?"
The pan has a diameter of 27 cm and a height of 10.4 cm - just the right size for an impressive presentation without being overwhelming. Are you also a fan of individual portions? The Braided Bundt is also available in a mini version for 12 perfect Bundtlettes - ideal for parties, brunch, or just because sharing is more fun.
How to Get the Best Results from Your Nordic Ware Baking Pan
The non-stick coating from Nordic Ware is excellent, but smart greasing makes the difference between a cake that releases and one that sticks in the grooves. Fortunately, it’s not rocket science - you have two good options:
- Method 1 - Butter and flour: Grease the pan with vegetable butter using a rubber brush. Make sure to cover every groove and corner. Then dust with flour, shake the pan around so it’s coated everywhere, and tap out the excess flour. Classic and reliable.
- Method 2 - Baking spray: Use a vegetable baking spray without lecithin. Lecithin leaves a sticky layer over time that damages the non-stick coating - a shame for such a beautiful pan. Preferably choose a spray with flour included, and spread it well with a brush.
After baking: let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan before inverting it. No longer, as steam can condense and cause the cake to stick. Always wash the pan by hand in warm soapy water - the dishwasher is the enemy of any good non-stick coating.
💡 Cookinglife Tip: Use a rubber brush (no metal or hard brush) to grease the pan. A soft brush reaches all the fine details of the braided pattern without damaging the non-stick coating. And add a pinch of cinnamon sugar along with the flour for an extra flavorful crust.
