FAQ

Is the cake rack dishwasher safe?
For the longest lifespan we recommend washing the rack by hand with warm water and a mild dish soap. Metal cake racks can discolor or oxidize in the dishwasher due to intensive cleaning. A quick hand rinse keeps the rack in top condition.
Does this rack also fit over a standard springform pan or baking pan?
The rack has a diameter of 32 cm. That's plenty of room for most common cake pans, such as a 26 cm or 28 cm springform pan. The cake will sit firmly and centered on the rack, with enough space around it for good air circulation.
How do I use the rack when applying icing?
Place the cooled cake on the rack and put a sheet of baking paper or a tray underneath. This catches excess icing neatly. Thanks to the short feet the rack is stable and gives you enough space to work around the cake. The icing runs down the sides without the cake sitting in a puddle of icing.
Can I also use the rack as a serving plate or cake stand?
Yes, you can. The rack can also be used as a cake stand, so you can present a cake or pastry directly on it. The short feet give it a slight elevation, which looks nice on the table. Keep in mind that it is a rack and not a flat plate, so it is most suitable for sturdy cakes or pastries.
What is the material of this cooling rack?
The Sareva cake rack is made of metal. Metal conducts heat well, allowing air to circulate freely around the cake and helping the heat to dissipate quickly and evenly. That's exactly what you want to prevent condensation on the bottom of your bake. The rack stands on short metal feet for extra stability.
