Quickly cutting large quantities of food? Or chop vegetables? No hobby or professional chef can do without a good chef's knife. In addition, because of their wide blade, chef's knives are suitable for moving food easily. Also, you can even crack nuts or shellfish with the back of the knife. Now that's convenient!
Diamant Sabatier is known as a quality brand and is one of the most widely used knife brands in the catering industry. Diamant Sabatier gives a lifetime manufacturer's warranty on material and manufacturing defects due to its strict quality standards. Would you like more information about the X45CrMoV15 steel that is Diamant Sabatier used? On our information page you will find a detailed explanation of the types of knife steel we use at Cookinglife offer.
We recommend storing your knife in a Knife block or hang it from a knife magnet. This extends its life and is safer. After all, not only is it dangerous to put your knife loose in your kitchen drawer, but it also damages the cutting edge of the knife. The knives of Diamant Sabatier are best cleaned with warm water and possibly a little soap. We recommend drying the knife immediately after cleaning, otherwise oxidation spots may appear on the knife and that is of course a shame.

This product deserves a place in every kitchen, I'm sure of that. The X45CrMoV15 steel keeps its edge longer than most knives in this price range, and you'll notice it immediately when you slice your first carrot with it. I also appreciate the seamless finish between blade and handle, because that's exactly the kind of detail that makes a difference in the long run, both for hygiene and for comfort. Diamant Sabatier has been making this for generations in France, and you can taste that craftsmanship in every cut. If you're looking for a reliable 20 cm chef's knife that gets the job done daily without fuss, this is a very solid choice.

Warranty
We offer a one-year warranty period on all products, unless otherwise indicated under the features of the respective product. Warranty terms may vary by supplier.
The higher the hardness, the longer the knife will be sharp and more delicate. The hardness of a knife is indicated by HRC values. Read below what the differences between these values are to help you make the right choice.
Up to 52 HRC
This hardness is too soft to make a quality kitchen knife.
52-54 HRC
This hardness is also still quite soft and offers reasonable quality. This is still optional for a small paring knife, for larger kitchen knives it is not good enough quality.
54-56 HRC
This hardness is often found on French kitchen knives and is certainly hard enough for kitchen use. Knives with this hardness require more maintenance and will need to be sharpened more often with a sharpening steel to keep the knife sharp.
56-58 HRC
This hardness is often found in German kitchen knives. These knives are suitable for many kitchen tasks and can take a lot. They are easy to keep sharp with a sharpening steel.
58-60 HRC
This hardness is mainly found in kitchen knives from Japan. These knives have a thinner blade, which makes them lighter in weight, and they have been shown to stay sharp longer. These types of knives are sharpened at a sharper angle, making self sharpening a lot more difficult.
60-62 HRC
This hardness is also found in Japanese kitchen knives. The rule is: the harder, the longer sharp. It also increases the risk of breakage and makes them difficult to sharpen. This can be prevented by processing the steel in a certain way. The price of these knives is a lot higher.

FAQ
Can I wash this chef's knife in the dishwasher?
For knives made of high-alloy steel the advice is always the same: wash them by hand. The heat, aggressive detergents and mechanical action of a dishwasher damage the sharpness and finish of the blade — even with stainless steel. Rinse the Diamant Sabatier Riyouri chef's knife under warm water, dry it immediately with a cloth and store it safely in a knife block or on a magnetic strip. This will keep the knife sharp for as long as possible.
How do I sharpen this knife at home?
The Riyouri chef's knife has a European edge angle, which means a slightly larger angle than Japanese knives. That makes the knife more robust and easier to resharpen. You don't need special equipment for this: • Honing steel — use this regularly (for example before each use) to keep the edge aligned. • Whetstone — use this for a truly dull blade for a thorough regrind. A standard European honing steel or whetstone is fully sufficient for this knife.
What exactly does the lifetime manufacturer's warranty cover?
The Diamant Sabatier Riyouri chef's knife comes with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. This warranty covers material and manufacturing defects — so if there's something wrong with the steel or the construction of the knife, it is covered. Normal wear and tear from use, such as the gradual dulling of the blade, is excluded from this warranty. The warranty applies to the original product under normal household use.
Is this knife suitable for both left- and right-handed users?
The Diamant Sabatier Riyouri chef's knife has a symmetrical handle with an anti-slip texture. That means the knife is comfortable in both the left and right hand — there is no specific handedness built into it. The handle and blade together weigh a total of 210 grams, providing a balanced grip while cutting.
What exactly is included in the packaging?
In the packaging there is one Diamant Sabatier Riyouri chef's knife of 20 cm. A honing steel, whetstone or other accessories are not included. The knife is ready to use.

Goed kwalitatief mes.
