FAQ
Are the Delice mugs suitable for the microwave?
The Delice mugs are made of high-quality stoneware and are oven-safe. For microwave use, however, stoneware with a reactive glaze — like the grey glaze on these mugs — is not always suitable for the microwave. Want to warm a drink? The safest option is to do so in the oven or by another method. When in doubt, always use the oven, for which these mugs are approved.
How do I keep the glaze on the mugs looking nice?
With a little basic care you can keep the mugs looking good for a long time: • Wash them preferably with a mild dish soap — this protects the color and the glaze. • Avoid abrasive cleaners or rough scouring pads, as these can damage the glaze. • Allow the mugs to dry thoroughly before storing them. • Removing them from the dishwasher? Pay attention to the bottom ring — it can still be a bit damp after washing and may leave marks on your tabletop. This is normal for stoneware tableware.
Can I put the mugs in the dishwasher?
Yes, the Delice mugs are dishwasher-safe. One practical note: the bottom ring of the mug can still be a bit damp after the dishwasher cycle. This can leave rings on your countertop or table. That is a normal characteristic of stoneware tableware — it is less common with porcelain. After the dishwasher, place the mugs on a drying cloth or rack.
Will the Delice mugs match my existing tableware from another brand?
The Delice mugs have a neutral grey color with a reactive glaze, which means each mug can have a slightly unique tint due to the glazing process. That subtle variation is what gives them character. Because grey is a versatile, neutral color, they mix well with different tableware styles — both modern and country-style settings. Slight color differences between the mugs are normal and are a result of the glazing process.
Are the mugs suitable for use in the oven?
Yes, the Cookinglife Delice mugs are oven-safe. You can use them to keep drinks or dishes warm in the oven. The mugs are made of durable stoneware, which is naturally resistant to heat. Always make sure not to place a mug directly from a cold environment into a hot oven to avoid thermal shock.
