I like that the tulip shape isn't accidental: its narrow opening preserves the fresh aromas of white wine and allows the bouquet to open perfectly. With 35 cl per glass I'm at the ideal volume, I serve white wine chilled and in smaller amounts so the glass never warms up too quickly. Six glasses in one set is simply smart, because then I don't have to improvise when friends come over for dinner. I've found Chef & Sommelier makes clear, sturdy glass that, even after years of use, still looks like it just came out of the cupboard. Handwashing is recommended, but I think it's worth it.

Chef & Sommelier advises washing the Cabernet Tulip wine glasses by hand. That may sound like extra work, but it’s the smartest way to preserve the clarity and elegance of the glass over time. The high temperatures and powerful spray jets of a dishwasher will gradually dull the shine of high-quality glassware. By handwashing you’ll keep them in top condition year after year.

Which types of wine are these glasses best suited for?

The Cabernet Tulip glasses are designed for white wine and light rosé. The tulip shape is no accident: it directs the fresh aromas toward your nose and lets the bouquet open up optimally. Full-bodied red wines are better served in a wider, more open glass — for those occasions it’s ideal to choose a different type from the Chef & Sommelier range.

How many glasses are in the set and is that enough for a dinner?

The set contains 6 white wine glasses, each with a capacity of 35 cl. That’s ready for a dinner with six guests — no need to order extras or mix different glasses. For larger groups, simply order additional sets, as the Cabernet Tulip line remains available in the same design.

How should I store these wine glasses to protect them best?

Store the glasses upright on a clean, stable surface — not upside down, as that can damage the rim and can also draw smells from the cupboard. A closable glass cabinet or a deep drawer with an anti-slip mat works well.
