What does our expert say?

Wine Specialist

I find Italian crystal really makes the difference when I want to serve wine the way it should. The six red glasses of 540 ml give a Cabernet or Merlot room to open up, while the smaller 380 ml white glasses keep a Sauvignon Blanc fresh and focused. Exactly as it should be, because the shape of a glass largely determines how a wine tastes and smells. I also like that this product is dishwasher-safe, because good glasses should make my life easier, not more complicated. With twelve pieces in one set I can immediately set a complete table for a delicious evening with friends or family.

FAQ

Can I put these wine glasses in the dishwasher?

Yes, the Bormioli Rocco Nexo wine glasses are fully dishwasher safe. To keep them looking their best for as long as possible: • Place the glasses with enough space between them so they don't knock together. • Use a gentle dishwasher program to protect the crystal glass optimally. • After washing, dry the glasses with a soft cloth for extra shine. Wash the glasses before first use with warm water and a mild dish soap.

What is the difference between the red and white wine glasses in this set?

The two types of glasses in this set are deliberately different in size and shape — that's not accidental, but functional design. • Red wine glasses: 540 ml capacity, a larger bowl. That extra space allows red wine to breathe and the aromas to develop fully. • White wine glasses: 380 ml capacity, a slightly narrower bowl. This helps keep the wine fresher and cooler, which benefits white wine. Each shape is therefore specifically designed to accentuate the taste and aroma of the respective wine type.

How many glasses are there exactly in this set and what is the combination?

The set consists of 12 wine glasses in total, divided as follows: • 6 red wine glasses – each with a 540 ml capacity • 6 white wine glasses – each with a 380 ml capacity That makes this set immediately suitable for a table of six, where everyone has both a red and a white wine glass.

Is crystal glass stronger than regular glass and how sturdy are these glasses?

Crystal glass is indeed a step above standard glass. The material provides two concrete advantages: • Exceptional clarity: your wine looks beautiful through the glass, making serving and tasting more visually appealing. • Added strength: crystal glass is more durable than regular glass under normal use. Multiple buyers also mention the pleasant weight and good balance of the glasses in the hand. The Nexo glasses are made from high-quality crystal glass by Bormioli Rocco, an Italian brand with a long tradition in glassmaking.

Which table settings and occasions are these glasses suitable for?

The Nexo collection from Bormioli Rocco has a modern and stylish design that is highly versatile. The glasses work well with: • Various table decors: from a contemporary, minimalist setting to a warmer, classic table arrangement. • Multiple occasions: think a midweek dinner, a festive Christmas meal, or an informal wine tasting with friends. • Sets for six: the 6+6 split makes the set practically complete for a standard dining table. The modern Italian design makes the glasses suitable for both everyday use and special moments.
