FAQ
Does the cork stopper make the carafe completely airtight?
The cork stopper of the Bormioli Ypsilon carafe is mainly decorative. The cork does not seal the carafe completely airtight. The carafe is therefore best suited for serving drinks at the table, not for long-term airtight storage of carbonated beverages.
What material is the Bormioli Ypsilon carafe made of?
The Bormioli Ypsilon carafe is made of glass — characteristic of the Italian brand Bormioli Rocco, which has been known for its quality glass for decades. The closure is made of cork.
How many glasses does 1 liter serve?
The carafe has a capacity of 1 liter. With standard 200 ml glasses you can pour five servings; with larger 250 ml glasses you get four servings.
Is the carafe suitable for drinks other than water?
Yes, a glass carafe like this is suitable for all kinds of cold drinks — think fresh orange juice, lemonade or fruit infusions. Please note that the cork does not seal the carafe airtight, so carbonated drinks may lose their fizz.
Are other products from the Bormioli Ypsilon collection available at Cookinglife?
Yes, the Bormioli Ypsilon collection includes several products. At Cookinglife you will find, besides this carafe, other Bormioli products from the Ypsilon collection.
