How do I best light the wooden wick of this WoodWick candle?

A wooden wick works a bit differently than a cotton wick, but it's simple once you know how. Tilt the candle slightly and hold the flame to the base of the wick for a few seconds. This helps the wood catch fire properly and allows the candle to burn evenly. For the first lighting, let the candle burn for at least one to two hours until the entire top layer has melted. This prevents so-called 'tunneling,' where only the center burns and the edges remain unused.

How do I maintain the wooden wick for an optimal flame?

After each burn session, a small bit of maintenance is key to a good flame. Trim or break off the charred top of the wooden wick to about 3–5 mm. You can easily do this with your fingers or a wick trimmer once the candle has fully cooled. A wick that is too long produces a larger, less stable flame and more smoke. Keeping the wick short preserves the characteristic crackling sound and helps the candle burn cleaner.

Does the WoodWick Ellipse Trilogy, in both the small and large sizes, fit on a standard candle holder?

The WoodWick Ellipse Trilogy comes in two sizes: 9 cm (smaller size) and 19 cm (larger size). Both candles are already in a glass holder, so you don't need a separate candle holder. Always place the candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface to prevent stains or heat damage. The glass itself will become warm while burning.

How long can I enjoy the three scents before the candle is finished?

This WoodWick scented candle has a burn time of approximately 50 hours. The three scents — Vanilla Bean, Caramel and Biscotti — are layered. As the candle burns, the scents are released sequentially and blended. To make the most of the burn time, it's best not to burn the candle for less than one hour or more than four hours at a time.

Is the glass jar of the WoodWick candle reusable after the candle is finished?

Yes, the glass jar is perfectly reusable. Once the candle has completely burned out, remove the remaining wax by placing the jar in warm water. The wax will soften and lift away, after which you can clean the jar well with warm water and dish soap. Rinse the jar thoroughly afterwards and let it dry before using it for something else.
