Are these steak knives dishwasher-safe?
To keep your Laguiole steak knives in top condition for as long as possible, we recommend washing them by hand. Warm water, a mild dish soap and a soft sponge are all you need. A dishwasher is too harsh for both the blade and the handle — this applies to almost all quality knives. After washing, dry them immediately with a dry cloth to prevent discoloration or stains. This way the knives and the Laguiole honeybee emblem will remain sharp and looking good for years.
How should I store the knives?
The set is delivered with a sturdy wooden knife block, which provides the ideal storage solution. The block protects the blades from damage and keeps the knives organised and within reach. • Always store the knives in the wooden block — this keeps the sharp blades protected. • Place the block in a dry spot, away from moisture or direct sunlight. • Never lay the knives loose in a cutlery drawer, as that damages the thin 1.8 mm blade. The wooden block is part of the set and does not need to be purchased separately.
Are the knives delivered sharp, and how do I keep them sharp?
The steak knives from Laguiole Style de Vie are made of strong stainless steel with a 1.8 mm thick blade — a deliberately thin choice for a precise, smooth cutting motion through steak and meat. For everyday table use you don’t need to sharpen them regularly. If the blade becomes less sharp over time, use a fine-toothed honing steel or have them sharpened by a professional. Do not use an electric sharpener, as that damages the thin blades.
How many knives are in the set and what exactly is included?
The set contains exactly 6 steak knives — enough for a full dining table. Also included: • A sturdy wooden knife block for neat storage and presentation. • Each knife features the characteristic Laguiole honeybee emblem. There are no extra accessories or matching forks included with the set.

De messen zijn erg goed! Ze liggen lekker in de hand en snijden groenten en fruit gemakkelijk! Helaas staat er in de bijsluiter dat ze in de vaatwasser kunnen. NIET DOEN! Want hierdoor is bij mij (helaas) het handvat erg dof geworden…. Jammer dat het wel in de bijsluiter staat maar het dus eigenlijk niet kan…
