100% leak-proof - carry worry-free in your bag or backpack
You know the moment: you brew a delicious pot of loose tea in the morning, pour it into a mug... and an hour later it’s lukewarm. Or worse: you toss it in your bag and your belongings smell like ginger and lemon. The Mepal Thermos Mug with Tea Filter Ellipse Vivid Mauve solves that - hassle-free, no spills, no cold tea.
This is not just any thermos mug. This is your daily companion for real tea - from loose leaves to fresh herbs and fruit infusions. Compact, stylish, and built to go. Everywhere.
Why the Mepal Ellipse Thermos Mug is a smart choice
- 100% leak-proof - Feel free to toss it in your backpack. No wet belongings, no panic moments, no excuses.
- 4-6 hours hot, 12 hours cold - Whether you’re taking tea, coffee, or iced water: you control the temperature, not the clock.
- Integrated tea filter - Works with loose tea, tea bags, and fresh herbs or fruit. Brew your own blend on the go.
- 90% recycled stainless steel - Sustainable material that also looks stunning in Vivid Mauve.
- Dishwasher safe - Easy to disassemble and clean, even after a day of ginger tea.
- 100% BPA-free - Safe material, always. No compromises.
- Fits in most cup holders - 70 mm diameter, 500 ml capacity. Ready for the car, bike, or train.
Leak-proof is not a marketing term - it’s a promise
Mepal doesn’t joke about leak-proof. The Ellipse thermos mug has a carefully designed closure that really stays closed, even when it’s upside down in your bag. No slow leaks that you only discover when your laptop is already wet. Just: closed. Period.
The carrying loop makes it even easier: hook it onto your backpack, carry it in your hand, or place it in your car’s cup holder. 500 ml is just enough for a long morning or a busy workday - and the slim shape of 70 mm diameter fits in almost any holder. Smartly designed, not by chance.
Vacuum insulation that really makes a difference
The double-walled vacuum insulation in the Mepal Ellipse is what distinguishes a good thermos mug from an ordinary drinking mug. Hot drinks stay at temperature for 4 to 6 hours. Cold drinks - think iced tea or cold water on a warm day - stay cold for even 12 hours. That’s no coincidence: the vacuum between the two walls blocks heat transfer in both directions.
For tea lovers, this means: brew your favorite loose leaf in the morning, let it steep through the integrated filter, and enjoy a tasty, warm cup of tea all morning long. No compromises on temperature, no watery stuff that has cooled down before you get to it.
The integrated tea filter: for real tea lovers
Here it gets really interesting. Most thermos mugs stop at coffee and water. The Mepal Ellipse goes further: the built-in infuser is designed for loose tea but also works perfectly with tea bags or fresh herbs and fruit. Ginger tea with a slice of lemon? Mint infusion on a warm summer morning? Chamomile for on the go? Just brew it in your mug, let it steep, and enjoy.
The filter is easy to remove and clean - even in the dishwasher (up to 65 degrees). This way, you keep your mug fresh and ready for the next flavor moment.
💡 Cookinglife Tip: Try a combination of fresh ginger, a pinch of turmeric, and a spoonful of honey in the infuser. Let it steep for five minutes in hot water and you have a warming golden milk infusion that stays warm for hours. Perfect for cold mornings and long commutes.
Sustainable material with a conscious story
The outer wall of the Mepal Ellipse is made from 90% recycled stainless steel. That’s not only good for the environment - it’s also a strong and robust material that can handle daily use. No dents from the first time it falls, no unpleasant taste that seeps into the material. Stainless steel is neutral, hygienic, and lasts a long time.
The color Vivid Mauve adds a wink to your daily routine: warm pink with a silver finish. Not flashy, but still eye-catching. The kind of mug that your colleagues will ask where you got it from.
