No, these placemats are not suitable for the dishwasher. Recycled leather needs more careful maintenance to stay in top condition. Fortunately, cleaning is simple: • Remove stains immediately with the LIND DNA dieptereinigende zeep, specially developed for recycled leather. • For daily care, spray the LIND DNA Clean & Care spray onto a soft cloth and wipe the placemats. • Then let them air dry and store them flat to prevent distortion. The cleansing soap and the Clean & Care spray are sold separately.
What should I keep in mind when storing these placemats?
A few simple rules will keep your LIND DNA placemats looking great for years: • Store them flat — this prevents deformation of the curved design. • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as it can damage the leather. • Keep them away from prolonged moisture, which can cause the material to swell or discolor. Do these placemats fit my plates — how big are they exactly?
Each placemat measures 44 x 37 cm and has a curved shape that wraps around your plate. Those rounded contours also help keep the placemat from slipping while you eat. For common dinner plates (up to approx. 30 cm in diameter) this size provides more than enough space, including cutlery beside the plate. The set contains 2 placemats.

Yes, the LIND DNA Nupo placemats offer protection against heat, scratches and spilled drinks. The combination of the leather surface and the rubber underside makes the placemat sturdy and heat-resistant enough for hot plates. For extremely hot pans or oven dishes straight from the heat we always recommend using a separate pot holder or trivet — the placemats are intended for use while serving at the table.
