FAQ
How do I best clean the LIND DNA Nupo placemats?
Stains are best treated immediately — that works best with leather. This is how to care for the placemats: • Stains: Treat them right away with the LIND DNA dieptereinigende zeep voor gerecycled leer. • Daily care: Spray the LIND DNA Clean & Care spray onto a soft cloth and wipe the placemats down. • Drying: Always let them air dry — not near a heat source. • Storage: Lay them flat so they don’t deform. The placemats are not suitable for the dishwasher.
Can I place hot pans or dishes directly on the placemats?
The LIND DNA Nupo placemats protect your table from heat, scratches and spilled drinks. They are intended as a mat for plates, glasses and cutlery — not as a potholder or trivet for very hot cookware straight from the stove or oven. For optimal protection of the placemats, always use a separate trivet for very hot pans.
How can I make smart use of the reversible feature at the table?
Each placemat has two different sides: one warm brown tone and one light sand colour. Simply flip the placemat depending on your table styling or the occasion. • Brown: Warm and rugged — great for a rustic or informal table setting. • Sand: Light and elegant — suits a refined, neutral table setting. So with one set of two placemats you actually get two different looks.
Are the dimensions 45 x 35 cm suitable for standard plates and cutlery?
A size of 45 x 35 cm is a generous, standard placemat size. There’s enough space for a large dinner plate, cutlery on either side and a glass above. Want to be sure for your own dinnerware? Measure the diameter of your largest plate and add at least 3–4 cm on each side for the cutlery — that way you’ll immediately see if the size fits your table layout.
What should I avoid to keep the placemats looking good for as long as possible?
Leather is durable but does require some care. Keep the following in mind: • Direct sunlight: Avoid prolonged exposure — this can cause the leather to fade or dry out. • Moisture: Don’t leave the placemats wet for a long time; always dry them thoroughly after use. • Storage: Store them flat, not rolled or folded, to prevent deformation. • Cleaning agents: Use only the recommended LIND DNA cleaning products — harsh cleaners can damage the leather surface. The placemats are made from 80% recycled leather and 20% natural rubber, sourced from Denmark.
