Suitable for any hob, in the oven and on the barbecue — this pan can be used anywhere
Much lighter than cast iron, so easy to lift when full
After braising, you can simply put it in the dishwasher
Casseroles that simmer for hours, oven dishes that fill the kitchen with aroma, soups that nearly cook themselves - that's the domain of the Emile Henry Ceramic Casserole Sublime+ Slate. With a diameter of 29 cm and a generous capacity of 7 litres, there's ample space for everything that is prepared slowly and lovingly. And the best part? This pot works on any hob, in the oven, and even on the barbecue. From hob to table in one movement - that's smart cooking.
Cast iron pots are fantastic, but let's be honest: when full, they are incredibly heavy. The Sublime+ breaks with that problem. Thanks to the Flame Ceramic material, this casserole is significantly lighter than cast iron, without sacrificing heat distribution or durability. You can still lift it comfortably when full of soup - even on your least sporty cooking night.
Flame Ceramic is not a marketing term. It is the result of decades of craftsmanship at Emile Henry, a French family business that has been making ceramics in Burgundy since 1850. The material heats up quickly, retains heat for a long time, and distributes that heat evenly across the entire base and walls. That means: no hotspots, no burnt food in one spot, and a nice, even crust when you sear meat. That exact combination - first searing quickly on high heat, then cooking slowly and evenly - makes the difference between a meal and a memory.
And thanks to the induction-compatible base, you don't have to choose. Whether you're cooking on a modern induction hob or an old-fashioned gas burner - the Sublime+ adapts to your kitchen, not the other way around.
On the inside of the lid are small nubs. These nubs are not a coincidence. During stewing, moisture rises as steam, collects on the cooler lid, and drips back evenly onto your dish via those nubs. That's a continuous, natural marinade while you simply sit on the sofa. The result is meat that is tender and full of flavour, vegetables that don't dry out, and sauces that become deeper and richer. Slow cooking as it was meant to be.
The inside also has a natural, acid-resistant glaze with excellent non-stick properties. Tomatoes, lemon juice, wine in the sauce - no problem. And if you prefer to use a metal spoon or spatula, that's perfectly fine. No worries about scratches or damage.
The Slate colour is dark grey with a matte, stylish finish that makes a personal statement on any table. The soft, rounded shapes of the Sublime+ are not only pleasant to use, they also look beautiful on the table. You don't need to transfer your dish to a serving dish - just place the pot down, open the lid, and let the aromas do the work. That's dining as it should be: relaxed, tasty, and together.
And afterwards? Just pop it in the dishwasher. 7 litres of casserole - and yet no rinsing marathon afterwards. That's the Emile Henry promise.
💡 Cookinglife Tip: Start by searing your meat over medium heat directly in the Sublime+, then add your vegetables, herbs, and liquid, and place the pot with the lid in the oven at 160-180 °C. After two hours, you'll have a casserole that tastes like you've been standing over it all day - while you've been doing something much more enjoyable. The nubs on the lid do the work for you.
If you're serious about slow cooking, stewing, and dishes that fill the kitchen with aromas that make your neighbours jealous - then the Emile Henry Ceramic Casserole Sublime+ Slate is the pot you should have had for a while. Light enough to work with comfortably, strong enough for any hob, and beautiful enough to serve directly. Add it to your kitchen and taste the difference.
