Is this food mill dishwasher-safe?

The Cosy & Trendy food mill is made of 18/0 stainless steel, a stainless steel that is sturdy and hygienic. Stainless steel is generally resistant to moisture and cleaning agents. For the longest life we recommend rinsing the mill thoroughly immediately after use so food residues don’t dry onto the discs.

What are the 3 included discs for?

The food mill comes standard with 3 different discs. Each disc has a different mesh size, so you can choose how finely you want to grind vegetables or fruit. That way you can use the same mill for a smooth tomato sauce, a coarse applesauce or a silky vegetable soup. • Fine disc – for ultra-smooth pureeing • Medium disc – for a creamy but slightly coarser texture • Coarse disc – for a chunkier result The three discs are all made of 18/0 stainless steel.

For which vegetables and fruits does this food mill work best?

This food mill is suitable for finely grinding and pureeing vegetables and fruit. Think of tomatoes, apples, pears, carrots or cooked potatoes. By choosing from the three discs you can adjust the fineness to suit what you’re making. Hard, raw vegetables are easiest to puree if you cook them first.

That two-handed action is exactly how a food mill works: one hand stabilizes while the other grinds. What size pan best fits this 24 cm food mill?

The food mill has a diameter of 24 centimeters. You place it over a pan or bowl that is slightly narrower so the mill rests on it stably and the purée is collected directly. A pan or bowl of 18–22 cm diameter generally works well as a collecting vessel. Do check that your pan’s rim is wide enough to support the mill securely before you start.
