FAQ

Is this cutlery dishwasher-safe?

Yes, the Sola Lotus cutlery set is fully dishwasher-safe. This is due to the composition of the material: 18/10 stainless steel, an alloy of 18 parts chromium and 10 parts nickel. That combination makes the cutlery rust-resistant and able to withstand the intensive conditions in the dishwasher.

For how many people is this set complete, and what are the serving pieces?

The set fully covers the table for 8 people. Per person you get a dinner knife, dinner fork, dinner spoon, dessert knife, dessert fork, dessert spoon, coffee spoon and cake fork. In addition, the set includes the following serving pieces: • 2 x serving spoon • 1 x sauce spoon • 1 x salad spoon • 1 x salad fork • 1 x cake server In total the set consists of 70 pieces.

How do I keep this cutlery in top condition?

Thanks to the 18/10 stainless steel, the Sola Lotus set is rust-resistant and low-maintenance. A few practical tips: • Rinse the cutlery preferably soon after use — avoid prolonged contact with acidic foods or salt water. • The set is dishwasher-safe, so you can safely run it through the dishwasher. • Dry the cutlery thoroughly after washing to prevent water spots. The 18/10 stainless steel material is known for its durability and retains its silvery sheen with normal use and proper care.

Is 18/10 stainless steel better than regular stainless steel?

Yes — and here’s why: 18/10 stainless steel is a premium composition of 18 parts chromium and 10 parts nickel. That 10% nickel is the difference — it gives the cutlery a brighter, silvery appearance and makes it more resistant to rust and corrosion than cheaper alloys such as 18/0. This makes 18/10 stainless steel the most commonly used quality standard for high-quality cutlery that will last for years.

Is this set also suitable for additional place settings, or only for 8 people at once?

The Sola Lotus set is designed for 8 people and contains for each person all necessary pieces for both main and dessert courses, plus coffee and cake. Want to expand the set for more guests? Sola sells the Lotus line as individual pieces as well, so you can easily add to the set and keep the table setting consistent. The pieces are all made from the same 18/10 stainless steel with the same Lotus design.
