FAQ

Is this cutlery dishwasher-safe?

The cutlery is made of 18/10 stainless steel (stainless steel). This type of steel is high-quality and resistant to moisture and acids — exactly what you need for everyday use. 18/10 stainless steel is generally dishwasher-safe, but for the longest lifespan we recommend removing the cutlery from the dishwasher immediately after the wash cycle and letting it dry. This prevents water spots on the handle and keeps the bamboo-look finish looking its best.

How do I care for the bamboo-look finish of the handle?

The subtle ribs in the handle — which create the bamboo-look — are part of the stainless-steel design itself. There is no separate coating or covering, so you don't need any special products. Useful to know: • Avoid abrasives or steel wool: these can dull the ribs. • Use a soft sponge or cloth when handwashing. • Dry the cutlery thoroughly after washing to prevent water spots. With a little care you’ll keep the finish sharp and beautiful for years.

For how many people is this set suitable, and what does it include?

The Sola Bali cutlery set is fully equipped for 12 people. The set contains 100 pieces in total: • 12 dinner knives • 12 dinner forks • 12 dinner spoons • 12 dessert knives • 12 dessert forks • 12 dessert spoons • 12 cocktail/ice spoons • 12 cocktail/cake forks • 2 serving spoons • 2 sauce spoons So besides the individual place settings, the set also includes serving pieces so you can set a complete table.

Is this cutlery suitable for everyday use, or more for special occasions?

The Sola Bali set is made of 18/10 stainless steel, a material that proves its quality in practice. It is corrosion-resistant, sturdy and retains its shine with regular use. The Asian-inspired bamboo-look makes the set distinctive, but that doesn’t stop you from using it on weeknight dinners. The combination of aesthetics and durable material makes the set suitable for both everyday use and festive occasions.

Is 18/10 stainless steel better than other types of stainless steel cutlery?

Yes, and here’s why: the designation 18/10 refers to the composition of the steel — 18% chromium and 10% nickel. That makes it extra corrosion-resistant and gives the cutlery its attractive, shiny appearance. Cutlery with a lower nickel content (such as 18/0) is less resistant to stains and rust over the long term. 18/10 stainless steel is considered the highest standard for stainless-steel cutlery and is also the choice of professional kitchens.

Sola Bestekset Bali - 18/10 RVS - 90 delig / 9 personen

I noticed Sola when dining at a restaurant and researched further to find something similar. Bali is a great cutlery set. It feels nice and rather heavy, cleans well in a dishwasher. The knives cut well. The only disappointment is one knife with a tiny chip on the handle.

Erg mooi bestek

Tineke V. 5/5 Verified March 16, 2025
