Which heat sources can I use this tajine on?

This Emile Henry Tajine Delight works on all common heat sources. So you can use it on your cooktop, whatever type it is: • Induction • Gas • Ceramic • Electric • Halogen • Oven • Microwave One important note for induction: build the temperature up gradually and avoid very high settings. That preserves the earthenware and gives you the best results.

Is this tajine dishwasher-safe?

Yes, the Emile Henry Tajine Delight is dishwasher-safe. You can put it in the dishwasher after use. If you want to keep the tajine in top condition for as long as possible, we recommend hand washing. It's a bit more work, but it protects the earthenware and the black finish in the long run.

For how many people is this tajine suitable?

With a capacity of 1.85 liters and a base diameter of 26 cm, this tajine is ideal for 2 to 3 people. If you want to serve an intimate dinner for four with slightly smaller portions, that's also perfectly possible. The overall diameter of 27.5 cm fits on most burners, so you won't have surprises when placing it on your cooktop.

How heavy is this tajine and is it easy to handle?

The Emile Henry Tajine Delight is part of the Delight-collectie, which was specially developed with lightweight earthenware. It is noticeably lighter than a classic tajine made from traditional earthenware. You'll notice that straight away in practice: lifting, carrying to the table and serving is much easier. You can put the tajine directly from the cooktop or oven onto the table as a serving dish.

Why do I need to build up the temperature slowly on induction?

The Emile Henry Tajine Delight is made from high-quality ceramic earthenware. That material heats up quickly and evenly, but it does require a gentle warm-up — especially on induction. If you start immediately at a high setting, the earthenware can heat too fast and unevenly. That increases the risk of cracks or damage over time. So set the cooktop to low to medium and let the tajine come up to temperature gradually for the best results and a longer lifespan.
