About Coravin

Coravin was founded by Greg Lambrecht. He combined his knowledge of medical needles with his passion for wine to develop a unique wine preservation system that allowed him to pour wine without removing the cork. The wine tastes as if the bottle was just opened, even if it is years later.

The Coravin Wine System Pivot is your ultimate storage aid for your favorite wines. With the Pivot, you can open your favorite bottle of wine at home during a party, dinner or 101 other occasions, even if it doesn't finish. With this wine system, you can store your bottle of wine for up to 4 weeks and you can enjoy the occasional glass at your leisure without worrying about shelf life.

This Coravin Wine Storage System comes with:

2 Stoppers
Pivot Aerator
2 Capsules (15 glasses per capsule)

Open the bottle of wine. Replace the cork or screw cap with a Pivot Stopper with the cap open (make sure the Stopper and the neck of the bottle are both dry).
To pour, place the Pivot device in the stopper. Tilt the bottle so the spout hangs over the wine glass and hold down the button on the device. Release the button and straighten the bottle to stop pouring.

Which bottles fit the Coravin Pivot+?

The Coravin Pivot+ works with most common wine bottles. The included Pivot-stopper fits perfectly on: • Bordeaux bottles • Burgundy bottles • standard house wine bottles The stopper's compact design provides an airtight seal on all common bottle shapes.

How long do the capsules last and how do you replace them?

The package includes two capsules. Each capsule is good for up to 20 glasses of 150 ml — more than enough for several evenings. When a capsule is empty, simply install a new capsule in the system and continue. Replacement capsules are available separately.

What exactly is included in the Coravin Pivot+ packaging?

The box contains everything you need to get started right away: • 1 Coravin Pivot+ system (136 grams, 25 mm wide) • 2 Pivot-stoppers for an airtight seal • 2 capsules (each good for up to 20 glasses of 150 ml) • 1 aerator for immediate aeration equivalent to 60–90 minutes of decanting The system is supplied with a 2-year warranty from Coravin.

How do you clean the Coravin Pivot+ aerator and stopper?

The aerator and the Pivot-stopper come into direct contact with your wine, so rinsing them regularly is a good idea. Rinse both parts after use with lukewarm water to remove wine residues. This keeps the aerator working optimally and ensures your wine tastes as it should every time. Store the system in a dry place — the slim size (25 mm wide, 136 grams) fits easily in a kitchen drawer or on a wine rack.

How does the protection against oxidation work exactly?

Oxidation is the biggest enemy of an opened bottle of wine. The Coravin Pivot+ tackles this cleverly: • Place the Pivot-stopper firmly on the opened bottle. It creates a hermetic, airtight seal that keeps oxygen out. • The capsule in the system provides the protective action that actively prevents oxidation. • If you want to pour a glass, pour through the aerator, which aerates the wine immediately without introducing extra oxygen into the bottle.
