FAQ

Is the swing-top closure, including the rubber sealing ring, supplied with the bottles?
Yes. A swing-top bottle by definition has a hinged metal clamp and a rubber sealing ring — that’s what makes it a swing-top bottle. All these parts come fitted as standard on the Officina 1825 when you receive the bottles.
Can I also use the Officina 1825 as a carafe at the table?
Yes. The Officina 1825 falls into the Jugs & Carafes category, which indicates that the bottle is also intended for serving at the table. Matching glasses are sold separately.
Is the bottle also suitable for storing food?
Yes. Bormioli Rocco also offers the Officina 1825 as a weckfles — a glass jar with an airtight swing-top closure for storing food. The rubber sealing ring provides a hermetic seal. The bottle is suitable for storing liquids and food items such as drinks, sauces, oil, vinegar and syrups.
What is the difference between a swing-top bottle and a weckfles?
Both terms refer to a glass bottle or jar with an airtight closure and rubber ring. A beugelfles has a hinged metal clamp as its closing mechanism. Weckfles is the older Dutch name for a glass preserving jar, derived from the brand Weck. In everyday use the terms are used interchangeably; Bormioli Rocco therefore calls the Officina 1825 both.
How many glasses fit in the 1.2-litre bottle?
With a standard drinking glass of 200 ml, the bottle holds 6 glasses. If you use larger glasses of 250 ml, that’s 4 to 5.
