Can I put these steak knives in the dishwasher?

Yes, the Villeroy & Boch Piemont steak knives are dishwasher-safe. For the longest lifespan we recommend hand washing — it's the best way to preserve the shine and sharpness of the 18/10 stainless steel for years. Rinse the knives with warm water and a mild detergent, and dry them immediately after washing.

How can I keep the knives as sharp as possible?

18/10 stainless steel is known for its durability, but a little care really makes a difference: • Choose hand washing if you want to preserve sharpness to the maximum — dishwasher use is possible, but repeated cycles will wear the blade slightly more over time. • Dry the knives immediately after washing; even stainless steel benefits from dry storage. • Store them separately from other cutlery so the blades don't rub against each other. The high chromium content (18%) also protects the knives well from acids in marinades and sauces, contributing to an impeccable finish over the long term.
