About Villeroy & Boch

FAQ

Can I put the Ella cutlery set in the dishwasher?

Yes, the Villeroy & Boch Bestekset Ella Verguld is fully dishwasher-safe. You don't need to hand-wash it carefully for fear of damaging the cutlery — just put it in the dishwasher and you're done. The satin finish of the stainless steel also helps hide small scratches better than high-gloss cutlery, so the set still looks good after frequent use.

How do I care for the gilded details so they stay beautiful?

The gold-leaf applications on the underside of the handle give the Ella set its characteristic luxurious look. To keep them looking their best for as long as possible, follow these smart habits: • Use the dishwasher on a normal cycle — it's best to avoid aggressive detergents or very hot cycles. • Dry the cutlery immediately after the dishwasher cycle — this prevents water spots on the gilded parts. • Do not use scouring agents or steel wool — these damage both the gilding and the satin finish. The stainless steel used in the Ella series is made to last for years without discoloring or warping.

What exactly is included in the 70-piece set?

The Villeroy & Boch Bestekset Ella Verguld is complete for 12 people and contains 70 pieces. The set includes the everyday pieces for 12 guests and serving cutlery, so you're fully equipped for every dinner — from a relaxed midweek meal to a multi-course dinner — without having to hunt for extra items.

Is this cutlery suitable for daily use or only for special occasions?

The Ella series is designed for both. The sleek, modern silhouette and the satin finish make the cutlery perfectly suitable for everyday use at the table. The decorative line on the handle is subtle enough not to look overly festive for an ordinary meal. At the same time, the gold-leaf applications ensure the same set can handle the big moments: a birthday dinner, Christmas with the whole family, or a wedding anniversary. Villeroy & Boch makes the cutlery from high-quality stainless steel that remains strong, hygienic, and colorfast under intensive use.

Does the Ella cutlery set match other Villeroy & Boch dinnerware lines?

The Ella series has a modern and feminine design with a slim silhouette and a satin silver-coloured finish with gilded details. This pairs well with dinnerware in neutral tones and stylish, contemporary table collections. Villeroy & Boch has been known for over 275 years for thoughtful design with coordinated style lines, which makes mixing Villeroy & Boch collections at the table easy.
