An espresso is more than a drink - it is a moment. A ritual. And that moment deserves something that looks as beautiful as it tastes. The Costa Nova Arenito Espresso Cups are just that: handmade, sustainable earthenware cups from Portugal that turn your daily coffee break into a true experience. With eight different colors in one luxury gift box, you not only treat yourself but also have the perfect gift for any coffee lover in your vicinity.
Why these espresso cups are on another level
Costa Nova does not make ordinary tableware. The Portuguese brand combines craftsmanship with a genuine commitment to sustainability - and you can see that in every piece of the Arenito collection. Each cup is handcrafted from Ecogres®, a revolutionary material developed by Costa Nova in collaboration with the University of Aveiro. Ecogres® consists of recycled clay and glazes from its own production, supplemented with waste materials from nearby industries. The result is a strong, durable, and 100% environmentally friendly material that proves itself time and again.
- Handmade in Portugal - Each cup is unique due to the artisanal production method, with an authentic appearance that immediately stands out at the table
- Ecogres® material - Recycled clay of top quality: strong, heat-resistant, and consciously produced
- Matte glaze on the inside - Provides a rich, artisanal look and feels luxurious with every sip
- Six different colors in one set - From warm Champagne Yellow to deep Charcoal Grey: the right tone for every mood and table style
- Luxury gift box for 8 pieces - Ready to gift, perfect for coffee lovers who appreciate beautiful tableware
- Dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer safe - Practical to use, without compromising on appearance
Ecogres® - sustainability you can see and feel
There are many brands that claim to be sustainable. Costa Nova simply does it. Together with the University of Aveiro, they developed Ecogres®: a new type of clay made from recycled waste streams from its own production and surrounding industries. Clay that would otherwise be lost gets a new life as tableware that lasts for decades. Now that is smart design.
The material is also incredibly versatile. Heat-resistant up to 250 degrees Celsius, suitable for the microwave and oven, and just pop it in the dishwasher after use. You enjoy your espresso, slide the cups into the dishwasher, and the next day they are ready for the next round. Enjoying without hassle - that is Costa Nova's promise.
The unglazed bottom of each cup is a conscious choice: it is a nod to the artisanal character of the collection and gives each piece a recognizable, warm appearance. Once you place the cups on the table, everyone knows: attention has been paid to detail.
Six colors, one perfect coffee experience
The Arenito gift box contains eight espresso cups divided into six beautiful color shades. No two table moments need to be the same:
- Champagne Yellow - Light and cheerful, like sunlight in your cup (2 pieces)
- Sage Green - Soft and calming, a natural shade for every table atmosphere (2 pieces)
- Aqua - Fresh and vibrant, a subtle Mediterranean feel (1 piece)
- Mauve Rose - Warm and soft, perfect for those who love a romantic touch (1 piece)
- Olive Green - Earthy and warm, timeless on any set table (1 piece)
- Charcoal Grey - Bold and minimalist, for the serious espresso drinker (1 piece)
Serve your espressos together and let everyone at the table choose their own color. Or mix them intentionally for a playful, eclectic table setting. The combination of matte glaze and the natural bottom ensures that all colors come together harmoniously, without looking messy. Serving deliciously is an art - and with the Arenito collection, you master it effortlessly.
The perfect gift for the coffee lover in your life
Looking for a gift that truly makes an impression? The Arenito gift box is a no-brainer. The eight cups are packaged in a well-crafted luxury box that you can give away directly, without extra wrapping work. Whether it’s for a birthday, housewarming, or just because you want to please someone: a set of beautiful, handmade espresso cups from Portugal is a gift with character. Something your recipient will not only be happy with but will also enjoy for years to come.
And honestly? Treat yourself too. Your morning espresso deserves better attire than a standard cup from the supermarket.
💡 Cookinglife Tip: Warm the cups briefly before use in the oven or with hot water - this keeps your espresso warmer for longer and allows you to taste every flavor layer optimally. Due to the high heat resistance of Ecogres®, this is completely safe and gives your espresso moment that little extra.
