Costa Nova did something that few ceramic brands do: they collaborated with scientists to fundamentally improve their production process. Together with the University of Aveiro, they developed Ecogres® - a completely new type of clay made from recycled clay and glaze remnants from their own production, supplemented with waste materials from nearby industries.

The result is a material that is not only more environmentally friendly but also has a special, organic texture that you feel as soon as you pick up a plate.
