Note: when taking out of the dishwasher, the bottom ring may sometimes still be a bit damp, which can cause rings. This applies to practically every stoneware tableware. This is not the case with porcelain.

Are these plates suitable for use in the dishwasher and oven?

Yes, the Delice Blauw breakfast plates are both dishwasher-safe and oven-safe — convenient for everyday use and if you want to warm them briefly in the oven. One practical note for the dishwasher: the bottom ring of the plates may still be slightly damp after washing. That can leave marks. This is a characteristic of earthenware in general and is not unique to these plates.

How do I keep the blue color and the glaze looking good for as long as possible?

With a little care these plates will last a long time. Follow these tips: • Use a mild dish soap — this protects both the color and the glaze. • Let the plates dry thoroughly before storing them so no moisture spots form. • Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads; they can damage the glaze. The slight color variations you sometimes see are not a defect — they occur during the glazing process and make each plate unique.

Are the slight color variations between the plates normal?

Yes, absolutely. The Delice Blauw plates are made with a reactive glaze, a glazing technique where each batch of glaze reacts slightly differently in the kiln. As a result, the blue shade can vary slightly from plate to plate. This is not a manufacturing fault, but a characteristic of this type of earthenware. No two plates are exactly the same.

For which occasions or dishes are these plates best suited?

With a diameter of 19 cm, these are versatile plates you can use at several times of the day: • Breakfast — bread, pastries, croissants or a small portion of fruit • Dessert — a slice of cake, a scoop of ice cream or a small pudding • Snacks to serve with drinks — cheese, crackers or small nibbles The set contains 6 plates, so you’ll have enough for a tableful of guests.

What material are these plates made of and how sturdy are they?

The Delice Blauw plates are made of sturdy earthenware. This material stands up well to daily use and has a solid weight that conveys quality at the table. The main difference compared to porcelain: earthenware can retain some moisture in the bottom ring after the dishwasher. Porcelain does not. Apart from that — oven, dishwasher, everyday use — these plates perform very well.
