Will this maintenance kit fit both a 3-cup and a 4-cup Bialetti?

Yes. The designation '3/4 cup' means that this kit fits both the 3-cup and 4-cup versions of the mentioned models. The Moka Express, Fiametta, Mini Express and Break share the same dimensions for the gasket and the filter plate in both sizes.

How do I replace the sealing rings and the filter plate in my Bialetti?

Replacement is quick and tool-free. Make sure your percolator is completely cold before you begin. Unscrew the lower and upper chambers, remove the filter basket and then take the old rubber ring out of the groove in the upper chamber together with the aluminium filter plate underneath. Place the new filter plate in, press the new ring firmly into the groove and screw everything back together. Hand-tight is sufficient — no tools needed.

Do I use all three rubber rings at once, or are the extra rings spares?

Your percolator only needs per brew one sealing ring. The set contains three rings so you have spares on hand for the next replacement. For each maintenance you install one ring; keep the other two for next time.

How do I check whether the new ring is correctly placed?

On the first brew you will immediately see and feel if the seal is correct: there should be no steam or moisture escaping at the seam between the two chambers. Do you notice a small leak? • Let the percolator cool down completely first • Unscrew it again and check that the ring is entirely seated in the groove • Screw it closed firmly again If the ring sits correctly in the groove, the connection will remain completely dry and sealed during brewing.

Do I need to do anything before the first brew after installing new parts?

Yes, it is advisable to discard one brew immediately after replacement. This rinses any manufacturing residues from the new parts and gives the rubber ring a chance to acclimatise to pressure and temperature. After that first brew, the new parts are fully bedded in.
