The Design You Won't Forget
Jasper Morrison calls his approach "super normal" - and that’s exactly what the PlateBowlCup cups are. They stand out by how normal they look, but just a bit better than anything you already have. The diameter of 8 cm is just right: spacious enough for a good coffee or cappuccino, compact enough to retain heat and let that first sip truly be savored. The white porcelain provides a sharp, attractive stage for every coffee. Dark espresso, light cappuccino, creamy flat white - everything looks better in a cup that is so sleek and clean-lined.
What Morrison masterfully does is leave out details you don’t miss. The result is a cup without unnecessary curves, bulges, or decorative frills. What remains is pure. That’s also why this dinnerware can last for decades - it’s not trendy, it’s classic. And classic never ages.
Built for Daily Enjoyment - Without Hassle
Beautiful design can be practical - and it is. The PlateBowlCup cups are fully dishwasher safe, so you don’t have to stand there polishing with a soft cloth after that delightful coffee moment. Just put them in, press the button, done. Also microwave safe, because sometimes you just want to warm up that second cup without creating extra dishes. The porcelain is sturdy and durable - these are not fragile display pieces, these are workhorses with allure.
With a capacity of 200 ml, the cup is perfect for a strong espresso, a ristretto with a splash of warm water, or a compact cappuccino. Small but powerful - just like the best coffees themselves.
And the weight? At 204 grams per cup, it feels just right in your hand. Not too light so it feels cheap, not too heavy so it becomes cumbersome. That balance is no coincidence - that’s craftsmanship.
Serve Like a Pro - At Home at the Table
There’s something special about serving coffee in cups that really matter. Guests notice it, even if they don’t say anything. The PlateBowlCup set is not just for the avid coffee lover - it’s for anyone who wants to make that small moment of togetherness something beautiful. Sunday morning, after dinner, or just because you and your partner feel like having a good cup of coffee: with this set, you always do it right.
The set of four cups also makes a great gift. Alessi and Jasper Morrison - two names that speak for themselves in the world of design and quality. Beautifully packaged, recognizable for those in the know, pleasantly surprising for those who are just getting acquainted.
💡 Cookinglife Tip: Warm the cups by putting hot water in them and discarding it before pouring. This way, your coffee retains its ideal temperature longer and tastes fuller - a small trick that makes the difference between ordinary coffee and a truly enjoyable moment.
