About WMF

FAQ

Are these egg spoons dishwasher safe?

Yes, the WMF Nuova egg spoons are fully dishwasher safe. You can simply put them in the dishwasher after use for a thorough, streak-free result. Prefer to wash them by hand? Use a soft sponge — no abrasive cleaners or steel wool, as these can damage the shiny finish. Dry the spoons thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water spots.

Can I use these spoons to stir hot liquids?

We do not recommend it. The WMF Nuova egg spoons are designed for scooping soft yolks and poached or boiled eggs — not as stirring implements in hot liquids for extended periods. Do not use them in the microwave or oven either: the spoons are not suitable for that. They are made of Cromargan® stainless steel 18/10, which is excellent for table use but not for direct heating.

How should I store these egg spoons to prevent rust?

You can easily prevent rust with proper storage and cleaning: • Dry immediately after cleaning — leaving moisture on cutlery is the main cause of stains and rust. • Store them in a dry drawer — damp environments (such as an open sink area) are less suitable. • Avoid abrasive agents — no steel wool or aggressive cleaning products, so the protective layer remains intact. Cromargan® stainless steel 18/10 is naturally scratch- and rust-resistant, but proper storage extends its lifespan.

How many spoons are in the set and what are the dimensions?

The set contains 6 egg spoons, each with a length of 12 cm. The round, shallow bowl has a diameter of 2.5 cm — just large enough to easily scoop soft yolk and egg white. The slim, ergonomic handle is designed for a comfortable grip and precise serving.

Does the design of the WMF Nuova egg spoons match other cutlery or tableware?

The WMF Nuova egg spoons have a timeless, slim design with a shiny silver finish. They therefore go well with a wide range of tableware and cutlery collections — from sleek modern to classic settings. They are made of Cromargan® stainless steel 18/10, the same material WMF uses in many of its cutlery lines, which enhances visual cohesion.
