Can I use this mug in the dishwasher and microwave?

Yes, absolutely. The Villeroy & Boch Mariefleur Basic mug is both dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe. After enjoying your drink you can simply put it in the dishwasher — no handwashing required. Has your coffee or tea cooled down? Then pop the mug in the microwave to quickly bring it back up to temperature.

How do I keep the floral pattern looking good after a lot of use?

The decorative floral pattern of the Mariefleur Basic is part of Villeroy & Boch’s premium porcelain — it’s not a sticker or a loose layer. Thanks to the high quality of the porcelain, the pattern remains crisp and clear even after dozens of dishwasher cycles. Cheap mugs often lose their shine or color, but porcelain of this caliber resists that much better. • Use the normal dishwasher program — that’s sufficient. • Avoid abrasive cleaners; they’re simply not necessary for this material. The mug weighs 235 grams and is made of fine yet resilient porcelain.

Does this mug match other pieces from the Mariefleur collection?

Yes. The Mariefleur Basic mug is part of the wider Mariefleur collection from Villeroy & Boch. You can use it on its own, but it also pairs seamlessly with other pieces from the same collection — handy if you want to expand your tableware step by step. The recognizable floral pattern on the cream-colored porcelain creates a cohesive look at the table.

How much does this mug hold, and which drinks is it suitable for?

The Villeroy & Boch Mariefleur Basic mug has a capacity of 260 ml. That’s plenty for a generous cappuccino or a full mug of tea, and compact enough to hold comfortably in your hands. The mug is suitable for a variety of hot drinks: • Espresso or coffee • Cappuccino or latte macchiato • Tea or herbal tea Thanks to its microwave-safe design you can also easily reheat drinks in the same mug.

Where is this mug made, and what does that say about the quality?

The Villeroy & Boch Mariefleur Basic mug is Made in Germany. Villeroy & Boch has stood for European quality for more than 275 years — that’s not marketing, it’s verifiable history. The porcelain is sturdy, smooth and pleasant to hold, with that warm, timeless quality you notice as soon as you pick up the mug. The mug weighs 235 grams.
