FAQ

Is this dinnerware dishwasher-safe?

The Oona Sand-Green dinnerware is made of sturdy earthenware with a matte exterior and a glossy speckled glaze. Earthenware is generally dishwasher-safe, but washing on a low/gentle cycle (max. 60°C) without aggressive detergents preserves the shine and color the longest. Tip: don’t let the plates soak in water for too long, as that is never a good idea with earthenware.

Can I use the plates in the microwave or oven?

Earthenware is naturally a material that tolerates heat well, but it’s always wise to be cautious. Do not expose the plates to sudden, extreme temperature changes — for example, don’t put them straight from the fridge into a hot oven. That way you avoid cracks in the glaze. The plates are suitable for everyday use at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Which plates are included in the set and what are their sizes?

The 18-piece set contains three types of plates for 6 people: • 6 × Dinner plate – Ø 27 cm • 6 × Deep plate – Ø 19 cm • 6 × Dessert plate – Ø 20.5 cm Each plate has a matte exterior and a glossy speckled glaze on the inside.

Does this dinnerware match other products from the Oona Sand-Green collection?

Yes, absolutely. The Oona Sand-Green line is a complete collection, and this dinnerware set is perfect to combine with other pieces from the same series. Think of extra individual plates, bowls or serving dishes — this lets you easily expand your tableware when you expect more guests or want to complete your set.

How do I care for earthenware so it keeps looking good for a long time?

Earthenware is a sturdy and durable material, but a few simple habits help keep the dinnerware looking great for years: • Do not use scouring pads or aggressive cleaning agents — they damage the glaze. • Stack the plates carefully; optionally place a thin layer (paper or felt) between the plates to prevent scratches. • Avoid abrupt temperature shocks, such as an ice-cold plate on a blazing-hot surface. The dinnerware is made of earthenware with a matte exterior and a glossy speckled glaze.
