How do I clean the Birkmann Taartvorm Premium Baking properly?

Always wash the baking pan by hand — never in the dishwasher. The high temperatures and aggressive detergents in the dishwasher damage the non-stick coating. Use a soft sponge with warm water and mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool pads and sharp objects, as these will damage the non-stick coating.

Can I use metal spatulas or kitchen utensils in this baking pan?

No — do not use metal spatulas, knives or other sharp metal utensils in this baking pan. Metal will scratch the non-stick coating and reduce its effectiveness. Choose utensils made of silicone, wood or plastic — these are safe to use on a non-stick coating.

Is the Birkmann Taartvorm suitable for use in the microwave?

No, this baking pan is made of steel and therefore not suitable for the microwave. Metal objects should not go in the microwave because of the risk of sparks and damage to the appliance. The pan is intended for use in a conventional oven only.
