grilled pear with velvety Bailey’s sauce

    1. Preheat the oven and peel the pears. Cut them in half, remove the core and rub the pears all over with the speculaas spice mix. Place them in a baking dish and put in the oven for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, make a smooth sauce by stirring the mascarpone and Bailey’s together well.

    2. Remove the pears from the oven, crumble some walnuts over them, drizzle some honey on top and switch the oven to grill. Put the pears back in the oven for about 10 minutes. Serve half a pear per person with a generous spoonful of mascarpone–Bailey’s sauce. Mmmmmm….

This dessert is surprisingly easy to make, yet looks festive and luxurious on the table. The combination of warm, tender pear with the cool, creamy Bailey's sauce is truly heavenly. Perfect for impressing your guests without spending hours in the kitchen.

Tip: use a baking dish with a grill rack so the pears cook evenly all around. You can also make the mascarpone–Bailey’s sauce ahead of time and keep it in the fridge until the pears are ready. A drizzle of extra honey when serving finishes it off.
