Delicious açai breakfast bowl

Have you ever tried an açai bowl at a healthy cafe? With the recipe below you can make this delicious bowl at home in no time. Supereasyandhealthy! Açai berries have become increasingly popular in recent years. Their unique flavour and high antioxidant content have made the berry a favourite. The only downside is that the berry is hard to find in the Netherlands because it has a very short shelf life. Fortunately, we can now buy a pulp at Jumbo that you can keep in the freezer!

Delicious açai breakfast bowl

    1. Cut open the pouch of fruit pulp and put it whole into the blender. Do you like a stronger berry flavour? Then use two 100ml portions of pulp.

    2. Peel a banana and add half (keep the other half as a topping) to the blender with the pulp.

    3. Finally, add a splash of almond or coconut milk and blend until smooth. Pour the mix into a bowl and finish with ingredients you like. Shredded coconut, banana, granola, flaxseed and chia seeds are, in our opinion, the ideal combination! A generous tablespoon is enough for most seeds and coconut; add granola to taste.

The açai breakfast bowl is incredibly versatile. Feel free to experiment with different toppings such as fresh fruit, nuts or a drizzle of honey to make the bowl exactly to your taste.

Use a powerful blender to turn the pulp, banana and plant-based milk into a smooth mix. The thicker the mix, the easier it is for the toppings to stay in place.
